The BAD News
The Michigan Department of Transport (MDOT) is working on a large construction project on the Detroit side of the Ambassador Bridge, in the area just after you clear US Customs and the Bridge Toll booths. This has necessitated the closure of I-75 between exit 47B (Lafayette Blvd) and exit 49 (Rosa Parks) and affects traffic arriving from Canada and heading to I-75 South . . . and I-75 northbound traffic returning to the Bridge to Canada.

The GOOD News
The detours are very well marked and easy to follow. In fact, the detour into the USA is easier to drive than the route before the construction!

Recently, I have driven through this construction area several times and have observed no traffic congestion. Each detour took about the same time as the I-75 access routes before the construction project commenced. A new map with directions (replacing page 47 in your book) is available below.
