Canadian/USA Border Crossing - Delays
With much tighter security at the U.S. - Canadian border, delays in both directions are inevitable.
I've given you access to two sites which report border delays - one posted by the Canadian Government and the other by the US Government. They both report on outbound and inbound traffic, and distinguish between private car and commercial vehicle wait times. For some reason though, they sometimes vary with one another although the sites are supposed to be updated every two hours. |

To avoid excessive delays, try and reach the border outside commuter travel times. For instance, many people live in border cities and go to school or work in the other country. At present, the commuter lanes are closed at all border points so all traffic is going through the same inspection process. By avoiding the peak commuter hours of 6:00-10:30a.m. and 3:00-7:00p.m., you will find the border traffic less congested.
